The plan is designed for beginners and intermediate triathletes who want to optimally prepare for Ironman’s half. The plan is composed by Inaki de la Parra, an experienced Ironman athlete, World Champion Ultraman Hawaii 2016 and an experienced coach.
The plan is arranged in accordance with the training methodology, focusing on the long-term development of theathlete – takes into account periodization, regeneration cycles, load progression in all three disciplines. The basic microcycle week consists of 3 swimming units, 3 running and 3 cycling. Training descriptions will help you understand specialized training, and a simple, transparent record will help you understand the assumptions.
The plan uses exercise zones, theathlete gets a clear instruction on how to designate zones, in this way we use the intensity in the training program. Theathlete along with a completed training plan gets an original ebook with basic information on training theory, it will allow you to work effectively as your own coach.
The plan includes a full preparation period for the triathlete at a distance of 1/2 Ironman. The trainings are designed to optimally build an oxygen base for 3 disciplines, work on technique and reduce energy costs with a proper relationship of work and rest. The plan is adapted for amateurs, hence the larger volume falls on the weekend, on non-working days.
The training program will be suitable for athletes training with a heart rate monitor and with power measurement, everything is described in detail in the ebook. The plan includes 6 weeks of training, it starts with a regeneration day from Monday, and after two basic microcycles there is a resting microcycle. If someone needs a family free Sunday, just move the plan back one day.
